YRV Dump Vavle

Postby ToyHatsu » Tue Dec 08, 2009 12:31 pm

Hello all,...

I hope someone can help me? I've sent a mail to Nick, but have not had any reply in almost 2 weeks?

Anywho..
I have a Daihatsu YRV Turbo and would like to fit a dump valve.
My reasons are as follows:
1. I was told it will increase turbo life
2. It is beneficial for a Turbo installation

My concerns are:
1. I do not want extra power, I do not want any load on the engine
2. I want to keep reliability as is
3. I do not want to remap the electronics etc.
4. I do not want to make major modifications
5. I want a cheap option
6. I'm aiming for the "whooosh" sound.

Any ideas/suggestion will be welcome. Also, are there any DIY installation tips or is it best to have it installed by someone like Koos Swanepoel (I'm in Cape Town)

Thank you
ToyHatsu

Hi,

I replied to your mail, it was sitting in my junk mail folder for some reason. I see there are three other mails from customers as well, not sure why its going there...

Cheers

Toyhatsu...... Fitting a DV will not increase power. Your car will still be relyable.

Fitting a DV is Easy in the YRV.. You currently have a recycle valve on it... i sugsest you keep it like that, You will NOT gain anything or loose anything by fitting a DV to your YRV. You have an Auto Box in there so chanses are slim that you will hear the DV anyway..Unless you go the Broodwa Route... Upping the boost, adding Meth injection, and adding a Uni Q+.
