Battle of the Clubs 2010 – Incorporating Blanket for the needy

And you thought 2009’s Event was great!

The date is set in stone for June 26, and 27. This should be an event where all clubs will send their Top 15 Vehicles to participate for the crown of “Club Champion 2010” Entries are open as from today and will close once 140 Entries is reached.

The “BLANKET FOR THE NEEDY” is a campaign to raise blankets for the needy. Every vehicle entering will get the driver + 2 free entrance at the gate when arriving for the event, BUT must bring along a blanket and a tin or packet of soup. New or second hand blankets will be accepted – please cover in a plastic bag. This must be handed in at the gate.

Everyone whishing to over -night from Friday night will get free entrance and must bring along a Blanket and a bag of wood.
This will be your Entrance fee per person for the entire week end. Shower facilities with warm water are on site. This only applies for spectators in by Friday night 20h00. The gates will be closed at 20h00 and only Competitors will be able to get in.

As for competitors, - we will run with 5 disciplines namely -

1. ¼ Mile Time and Speed – 3 Runs per Competitor – Sunday from 10h00 – 15h00.
2. 800 meter Top End Run (Single Runs) - 2 runs per Competitor from as early as 07h00 on the Saturday.
3. 1000 meter Top end Run (Single Runs) - 2 runs per Competitor as early as 07h00 on the Saturday.
4. Gymkhana – beat the clock - 3 runs per Competitor, from 10h00 on Saturday.
5. 2.8 Kilometer Auto Cross - 3 runs per Competitor, from 14h00 on Saturday.

As we saw in 2010 the fastest car did not win the Crown. This will be for fast cars, cars that handles, and most important about a skilful driver. It will be run on a point system similar to Golf. The least points will be the winner.

Also exit speed on 800 meter
Also exit speed on 1000 meter
Also for fastest Gymkhana, and it will be portion dry, portion wet
Also for the Auto-Cross Winner
Also FOR THE WINNING CLUB

• Only paid up pre-entries will be allowed
• One set of tyres for the Drags and one set for the rest.
• A 2 day event with sleepover at the Track. Our new Lapa and “Boma” will be the place where action starts as the sun sets.
• Cars must be roadworthy and will be scuteneered at Marula Sun Casino
• All vehicles will be driven for +- 10 kilometers to the track
• Entry fee will be R300.00 PER COMPETTATOR and MSA Licences is compulsory.
. All vehicles participating in the 800 and 1 kilometer must comply with the Rules as set out by Motorsport South Africa.
